Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the moddy Discord bot and related website (together, the "Service"). By adding the bot to a Discord server or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Description of the Service
moddy scans image attachments posted in Discord servers where it is present, compares them against a database of known scam images, and, when a strong match is found, may delete the offending message, remove the author's recent messages, and ban the author (bans may be temporary). These actions are automated.
2. Eligibility and responsibility of server administrators
The bot is added to a server by an administrator of that server, who is responsible for configuring it, granting it the necessary permissions, and informing their members of its use. Server administrators are responsible for how the Service is used within their servers.
3. Acceptable use
- Do not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to abuse, harass, or harm others.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or circumvent the Service.
- Do not use the Service to evade Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.
4. Automated moderation and false positives
Detection is based on image similarity and is not perfect. The Service may occasionally take action on content that is not a scam (a "false positive") or fail to act on content that is. The Service is provided as an aid to moderation and does not guarantee the detection or removal of all scams.
5. Availability
The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operators of the Service shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Service — including wrongful or missed moderation actions.
8. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
